Leap Taxes

Preamble:

Growth and Decline is an Equilibrium which is usually an equal ratio, 1:1. (Equilibrium after all is “Balance”)

If two objects weighing the same are placed on opposite pans of a scale, it can be suggested that initially there is movement caused by placing them, as the scales find “Balance” between the two equal but opposing weights. Once they find balance the scales cease to move.

This is a great way of explaining Economic Stagnation, whereby should an economy be too “Balanced”, stagnation occurs (which is like an Economic Apathy)

Businessmen the world over know that a Balanced Economy isn’t one they can function in, so for the most part they attempt to throw the proverbial “Curve ball” just to keep things a little interesting. This of course has serious consequences as while their emphasis might well be a Growth on Returns, their actual pitch is an Increased Decline as their gain is someone elses loss.

What does this have to do with “Leap Taxes”?

The entire quandary is about identifying how to create a Buoyant economic system, which has proposed Growth and Decline stages but doesn’t allow an absolute balance to occur to keep away from stagnation. The method posed to do this is “Leap Taxes”.

“Leap Years” are historically a way where extra time from each year is compounded into one day every four. There are other forms of Leaps that have been mentioned recently in the press like the “Leap Second”, but nobody has seemingly considered a “Leap Tax”.

The idea is that One year is given a Low taxation, while the other years of it’s period are Taxed at “Normal” rates. This is somewhat different from the Fixed Tax system which  induce balance to the point of stagnation.

Leap Taxes can be done in varying ratios;

  • One year every Three (1:2)
  • One year every Four (1:3)
  • One year every Five(1:4)

The ratio’s are not Balanced, that’s because it’s implied that during the one year where taxes are lower, individuals and companies alike will attempt to use that year for buying products they would otherwise see highly taxed. This generates an increase in sales of those particular products during that year, while the other years are potentially used by such companies to produce the products they are going to sell, so as to keep up with demand.

Global Economics

If used by other countries they don’t all have to fall on the same year, in fact for a decent global economic model it would be suggested they didn’t, this means a number of countries will gain tax breaks while others are being taxed at the normal rate.

The shortest ratio (1:2) is the best for this particular model, however due to it being an odd number the tax break will end up moving between both odd and even years. This isn’t a problem with thinking of just one countries economy, but when applied to a global economy with other countries also potentially applying a similar strategy, some years one country might have tax relief while the other does not, other years both might have either tax relief or no tax relief (A Collision). The more countries that use the system the less these “Collisions” matter.

The 1:3 ratio is obviously likely to fit with peoples ideals, since it can work in with the current “Leap Year” method, however if a Global Economic model was to use it, it would be suggested that not everyone picks the “Leap Year” for their “Leap Tax” year, this stops every country having the problem that the one year where their economy might gain trade, is the same year that those other countries are also trying to gain trade due to tax relief.

An Example Leap Tax Year (1:3)

(This example converts a 15% Fixed Rate tax to a Variable Tax structure)

Leap Year

  • Tax: 12%

Next Three Years

  • Tax: 16%

At this point it should be considered that Tax Revenue isn’t absolutely the same each year, changes in peoples incomes, expenditures, employment etc can actually mean that the variable percentage doesn’t equal the same as the projected Fixed Rate, some Leap Tax periods revenue will be greater and others less, this just aids to maintaining “Economic Buoyancy”.

Leap Tax Inversion (The “Why not!”)

It is implied that it’s only “One Leap Tax year” in a period and not to operate the ratio’s the other way around (2:1 or 3:1), while it might seem an interesting way to cause an economic change with people having more relief and the occasional year of high tax, it would induce an equilibrium where people feel complacency during those tax relief years and complete decline during the other high tax year.

After all the intention here is to keep the scale pans “Moving” but within a predefined range that people are happy with rather than suffering the vast shocks of both Growth or Decline, but without absolute Stagnation.

It also works well with the concept of a “Reward” system, having “One tax relief year in three or four” is a reward (A positive taxis) for the overall Economy and all who are apart of it, giving them ”One Tax high year in three or four” generates a negative taxis which is obviously something that people and companies respond to negatively.

1&1 Server update

Due to a updating of all the server’s used in my current host package, I’ve been slowly (painstakingly) attempting to find out why the previous configurations are no longer functioning and returning various server errors.

While doing this I’ve decided to identify the alterations that have occurred, for instance one is that initially the server wasn’t automatically parsing the Index files correctly if a directory was accessed. It looks like they didn’t copy the core settings across, which means it’s down to the individual webmaster to include them in their .htaccess files.

This simply means adding the lines:

Directory index.php index.html index.htm
Options All

to the root .htaccess file.
You can adjust the index entries and define which options you intend to allow, but just remember the root options do not have +/- entries, they are meant for sibling entries (daughter directories/locations)

Also Apache 2.2 has an interesting change where instead of using the old method of redirecting to a page when something doesn’t exist using this method:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule (.*) http://%{HTTP_HOST}/notfound.php

You can now instead just use:

FallbackResource /notfound.php

(incidentally this is different than using a 404 ErrorDocument.)

Reflection on: Could a robot be conscious?

A BBC article queried “Could a Robot be Conscious?

While the article is an interesting topic of philosophical debate, I left a rather cryptic response of:

Who’s to say that such robots don’t already exist. It’s already considered that perhaps this very universe is itself an emulation made by the entities that exist within it. If proven to be an artificial construct then every person “alive” is just a Turing construct consumed by a posed “Human Condition”.

To which it magically got a negative vote against it (Either by a Creationalist or some stringent fanatical scientist that thinks we all magically came from a Belgian’s Big Bang.) Obviously I don’t know why the “neg”, So I can only presume it’s because my small comment limited to the number of characters available on comments was likely the reason, so I decided to express what manner of philosophical angle I was actually attacking the question from to at least appease the notion that the comment while short, has actually be thoroughly “thought out”.

The first question to raise, at least from my perspective was:

How does an inanimate object become animate?

I chose this question to reflect that the very base make up of everything in the entire known universe is “inanimate”. Now argument could be made that:

Thermal Dynamics implies this speculation to be false because it can cause the inanimate building blocks to be animated

However Thermal Dynamics follows Mathematically predictable rules, which means the animation itself is a programmatic routine, a function. In-veritably it is not the source of life or consciousness. After all the perception of life itself, that it can sporadically make assumptions and/or decisions (Observations) that effect it’s overall direction, therefore it’s usually termed as being “incalculable”.

So it brings us back to the question, How does an inanimate object become animate?
In essence it doesn’t. If an inanimate object was left to it’s own devices… (outside the scope of Thermal Dynamics or Radioactive Decay, all of which programmatic functions)… the object would remain inanimate.

This implies the only way an inanimate object can be animated is by tampering with it. Much like a puppet is inanimate without strings, it requires strings to animate it. So this would mean that an inanimate embodiment would require a symbiotic “String attachment” to generate animation.

… But what has this all to do with consciousness?

Well this of course is a lot of stipulation (a veritable house of cards) that meanders across multiple disciplines.

One avenue of query was “Should death be an absolute?” (Should you become nothing on death). Well the simple answer here is that without any effort placed into making an alternative, when we die, that is it. All that is left is the memories left behind embodied within others, our existence is much like a autobiography being ripped and burnt with only a few snippets left being housed by those that found importance in them on reflection.

If mankind was to “solve death” at least in the sense of capturing a person through electronic mediums to allow the creation of an “afterlife”, this would indeed mean that such a system would have to symbiotically coexist through a persons whole entire life. The reason for this is because you couldn’t just have a snapshot taken every so often, as this would mean that you wouldn’t create a continuum for that person, you would just spontaneously create a duplicate into being while the original perishes.

This gave way to the reasoning of how a symbiotic system itself could aid in development, increase exponentially the potential of a person mnemonically and further still paved the notion of “How to make an inanimate object, animate”.

After all if you were to gather the very building blocks of life as inanimate components and put them into a pot and stirred it, you wouldn’t suddenly have a life form occur and run from the pot. However if those building blocks were placed into “a soup” and matrixed with a Symbiotic system that contained programming in regards to how it should be animated, it could develop into a life form. Further development might even allow the removal of the symbiotic system to leave this cyclically programmed inanimate object to be capable of animating itself…. namely “Developing a consciousness”.

This is why I implied:

Who’s to say that such robots don’t already exist.

because in essence we could well be the evolved state of a cluster of inanimate objects, fine tuned to run our own computational algorithms.

Funerals

It’s a sad day today because unfortunately I have to watch one of my old friends get buried.

It’s made me reflect a little on what Funerals entail (since currently death isn’t “CURE”d.

I’ve decided to ask that should I ever have death happen (after all we all like to assume that life is forever) I don’t want anyone attending in BLACK, in fact I’ve decided that I would want my funeral to more like a Mardi Gras mixed with a Stag Night. So hire Strippers, dressing in gaudy outfits with sequins, bring blow up sheep and inflatable women with you and play loud obnoxious repetitive Trance/Techno and splashing’s of house music.

Don’t worry about celebrating a death or life, just enjoy the party and remember if I was able to look down, I’d likely be pissed I couldn’t attend. (Incidentally this is not a reflection that suggests I intend to go any time soon. In fact the party will likely occur when we are all old and wrinkly, I still suggest going with young strippers though… it’s a scary though having people staring at wrinkly’s.

(Also what would be a rather interesting project is for every attendee to be fixed up with motion capture dots and the entire funeral to be recorded via motion capture and emulated online through some online environment like Secondlife.)

R.I.P. Edward McCullough
I know full well that’s the sort of funeral you would of also likely want to envision.

An Apology and Open Letter to Professors and Scientists

(The below discourse is likely character challenging, however I ask that while I indeed write such things that will negate anything I say being taken seriously, that you do me a favour and look at the other articles contained in the site prior to being marred by this. Some comments, statements and entries might well be of interest or benefit to others.)

Firstly I would like to Apologise to a myriad of Scientists and Professors I have attempted to contact over the years. I know at times I will have likely come across completely disjointed and likely also expected too much from the community at large to deal with one individuals personal dilemma.

I have been very careful when emailing people because for the most part I don’t want to cause concern, or annoy people or just find myself delegated to spam lists. (You’ll will find my emails all originated from my chatsoba.com domain, they weren’t fakes, they weren’t spam, they were all written at the point in time that they occurred and unlike a decent student study for an exam, I had not structured any preliminary evidence to aid in my email construction.) Do not fear that I’ll fill your in-tray with more emails of there particular texture or quantity, I have always followed a one email rule (with the Exception of Prof. Warwick, which I think I might of sent three emails two over the past 10 years), where by if there is no return correspondence, then it’s obviously likely I’ve some how caused offence and should look elsewhere for help.

This in turn meant that I could have become a prolific emailer however I am nipping that in the bad right now by creating this blog post which I will link at a few locations where some people I might have crossed paths with can look and read/disregard as they see fit. (No matter what problem I have, I don’t want to make a nuisance of myself trying to find the right aid in dealing with it.)

Let me just give you a little backgrounding into what these emails were about and what this is indeed all about.

I have since the late 1990′s been classed as Schizophrenic, this isn’t something I’ve been happily termed to be but something that Medical doctors seem happy with. Over this duration I have had auditory inputs by third-persons that shift work twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. These people are both male and female, some are intelligent and witty, while others have at times proved to be more malicious. There initial inception was extremely abusive, playing pranks (like having me walk around the whole of Cambridge and Ely in the hope that I would be approached by one of the group using me.) and sometimes I’ve had various physical ailments that I identified as being created by them either because they were being malicious or because a fault in their method of operation through either their software or hardware.

The system used deals with both auditory outputs as well as resonance imaging to implant images (and animations) at my end. The image/animations haven’t been totally disconnected where I am but an observer, but at times I have actually utilised the system myself to alter, sculpture and create visuals (with the potential aid of their operators) It’s a complex brain computer interface matrixing input and output at the same time, implying that it’s likely fed through a super-computer or large cloud framework.

I had wanted to look for people to aid me in identifying that what I have been suffering isn’t delusional, mainly because the psychiatric industry doesn’t even glance twice if a particular ailment is assumed to fit a particular indoctrinated position. I have however found that Scholar’s, Scientists and even various state run departments have been a little less than helpful. I don’t blame them of course, I can understand there reasons for dismissing it all as some ludicrous condition, heck it’s the exact same way I would have likely handled it myself, if I hadn’t fallen foul of being on the wrong side of it.

What I would like to do is either prove third-party usage by using a Barrier method of blocking external usage (i.e. Using a TEMPEST shielded tent) while measuring the EMR background. (Perhaps observing via MRI the changes in elevation of temperature of segments of the brain when shielded compared to that of unshielded, since external sourced resonance translates into a calorific output to my knowledge.)

There is also question in regards to the parties involved in the creation of such equipment and it’s method of application. I have never volunteered for such a project, this has been misuse against me and against my wishes which is a direct violation of the Nuremberg Code. Due to the illegality such capacities as “Terminating a project on the grounds of safety” has also been ignored (Under the Nuremberg Code this is a required compliance)

On top of that there is the intellectual property concerns via this unregulated usage. While I don’t want to float my own boat… (after all self-inflated ego’s are often encompassed by a Schizophrenic condition), however I believe there a number of idea’s and information that needs to re-emerge from the data that has been observed.
(Some of my thoughts have utilised their equipment to embellish further, this has generated multi-media outputs I only wish I could place before an audience of peers for greater examination.)

Incidentally one that I believe to have great merit or worth is the visualisation and thoughts into what I’ve termed CURE (Composite Universe Recursive Emulation). It will seem like a play on words and will likely just appear to be some form of delusionary spiel outputted by myself, however in essence it’s a theoretical prototyping of how to generate an Emulated universe contained within a finite emulator which has the capacity to be utilised as a node within a multiworld’s composition. If the understanding of how to emulate can be pushed further, it opens the way for using emulators at a macroscaling level instead of developing nanotechnology. In essence our very atomic make up could be fine tuned as apart of an emulated universe, even the very nature of our genetics (which is an emulation ontop of an emulated platform) can be altered, perhaps to remove the process of aging or remove disease.

While pre-empting the potential that people in general might get to look in the future as to what has actually gone on, I will be the first to admit admit that I have not been a poster boy of virtue and at times allowed myself to be embroiled in embittered torrents of anger aimed at those misusing me. While I don’t want them to get away with manipulating the classic Stockholm syndrome scenario, I also don’t want myself to be befouled to the level of becoming a monster as a Nietzsche quote might suggest.

In any event, if you are one of those many persons I attempted to enlist the help of, I hope it’s cleared up what it was I was trying to convey, if you feel you have some comments to offer please feel free to add them here or tweet me (@Stryderunknown)

Delta Airlines Base64 encoded receipts

I have recently booked a flight using Delta airlines and in the process a receipt is sent to my email address. The receipt itself is a HTML file containing links for booking in as well as any relevant information. The problem initially was that I was using Thunderbird to attempt to view the html file to no avail initially, although I have found that there is actually a way to do it.

Firstly open your email in a new window (just to make sure there are no conflictions)
Under view make sure “Display attachments inline” is ticked, if it’s not or is and nothing is being displayed toggle it off and on again.

Viola, you should see your attachment.

A work around which I used for not spotting this straight away was using the Firefox browser (and apparently this works with other browsers too) With a Data URI schema, this comprises of taking the relevant information from the “Source” of the email and placing it into the browser like you would with a URL.

The output was I was able to create an adhoc html page through the browser, which in turn I could save in a HTML format for future use.

The URI format was:

data:text/html;base64,base64encodebody

Where base64encodebody was the raw data in it’s entirety.

Hopefully this will aid myself as a mnemonic aid for the future as well as anyone else having problems viewing attachments.

please insert a disk into drive ???.

A rather unusual error on an old windows XP computer, simply put I wanted to run Netstat from the commandline, everytime the time period for an update passed I’d end up with either of two error popups:

There is no disk in the drive. please insert a disk into drive ???.

Exception processing message c0000013 parameters 75b6bf7c

There were a few sites online that had topics on this subject, most of them pointed at how to disable the warning messages but I took it a little further. The particular PC I’m using has alot of Card reader devices for cards that probably aren’t even made anymore. These devices are all empty so I decided to disable them from being used.

(Thats achieved by going through the Start button left clicking Control Panel, left clicking System, picking the Hardware tab and selecting Device Manager or just right clicking my computer and picking properties to get to System quicker. Once there look in Disk drives to find all the available card readers and disable them via their properties.)

Disabling those card slots I wasn’t using fixed the problem and didn’t undermine the system by hiding error messages etc.

SEO snippets

Every so slowly I have been working out the kinks in the many domains I have.  Currently there isn’t much to any of the sites that exist, just a simple website with the attention of getting the search engines crawling the space prior to working on them.  Now to some this might seem a bit backwards, with the reasoning that content should exist first.  This is all good but indexing can take Months which would override any release date of a newly built website.

So far these are the couple of things that need to be taken into account when setting up a website:

a Robots.txt file

The files tell the crawlers and spiders where they are and aren’t allowed.  Initially it was defined that the standard practice was that the default was ALLOW and therefore you wouldn’t need to include an “ALLOW: /” line, funnily enough that data is out of date.  If you don’t include an “ALLOW: /” line, crawlers like the Googlebot will not index your pages.

Redirecting domain.com to www.domain.com

Mentioned on a SEO website was the suggestion to point domains to their www variant.  This is simply to point all access to one subdomain making it easier on Coding, Cookies and more importantly search engine inclusion.  Having the same page load at two different subdomains splits the potential access between two different websites, which means if you were advertising online and watching for hit statistics, you’d get a lesser number of hits in total etc.

The simple fix was just applying to the .htaccess file:

RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^domain.com [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.domain.com/$1 [L,R=301]

(Obviously requires the rewrite engine on)

Sitemap

The sitemap is basically an XML list of URL’s that exist on the domain.  They can aid spiders in finding what pages exist quickly without having to rely upon internal links.  (although the spider will be trying to mimick what a human see’s and can access themselves)  Sitemaps need to maintain entire URL’s (starting with Http://) and are obviously best written to include the www. subdomain (especially if used in conjunction with the .htaccess hack.)

Meta tags and the like

While depreciated to some extent, Metatags are still used so it’s best to include Description and Keywords at the very least.  One site suggests that a single H1 header can be used to also rate what the content of the page contains considering that humans read headers “SEO snippets”

Additionally some search engines use any external links from the first default index page to identify backlinks.  So if you want to share links to other sites you have or just boost your mates or customers, include a link to their site on your homepage.

Stryder’s Game of Life @ Conway Hall (Humanityplus 2011 Event)

The titled could be a little misleading, in the sense that it might make the casual observer assume the event is either mine or I have somehow managed to get to the point of lecturing.  This is not the case (That could be fortunate or unfortunate depending on how you look at it, the title was just a play on Conway’s Game of Life.)

Quite simply I have decided that it’s about time that I do a few more interesting things than zone out while playing computer games or blanking the world for it’s inability to network with me.  Obviously I have a vested interest in Transhumanism, Futurism, Technocracy and of course “Boys toys”.

So I decided it is time for a road trip, after all it’s been a while since I’ve attended any events (RIP: Norwich 2600) so finding a UK date for a Humanity+ event and location seems the logical choice.

What do I expect to do?  Well I will attempt to arrive there on opening and departing at the end of the day,  whether I will have the chance to speak to people about my own history at the event is going to be anyone’s guess, after all I won’t know anyone there, other than of course those that are known due to public limelight.

Will I be hob-knobbing with anyone famous? I really won’t know until I get there.  I don’t think I’ll push it too much, I don’t want to end up like a student getting Tasered at a John Kerry speech.  (Actually writing this is probably going to generate some security arrangements lol)  I might or might not get the chance to talk to a couple of people on the subject of my own involvement, If I get the chance and have their permission I will express what conversation we had on here after the 29th.

Anyhow for those that are interested you can find the 29th of January event details over at: www.humanityplus.org.uk

Stryderunknown BbBlog back up

It’s more than like you’ve never seen a blog here before and to be honest, it would make perfect sense since every time one got put up here, it got taken down pretty quickly.  I’ve never been one for diaries or blogs, however I really do need to change this in the new year for a myriad of reasons.  One is to keep a “Blow by Blow Log” of various thoughts, subjects, ideas and public-secrets  (A secret it would be if the public didn’t know), anyhow you’ll possibly see during the progression of this BbBlog.
